One of the coolest things about walking with God is when things happen or you do something without really thinking, "Is this what God wants me to do?" and you find out later you were completely doing exactly what He wanted you to and when!
This morning during the church service our Pastor began to preach exactly what Jacque and I had been talking with her coworkers about the night before. My friend had had a dream about the legacy that her grandparents had worked to give her and her family and the impact that it was having now. How God was working and all of the amazing things that He was doing. We both get to church this morning and that was the sermon that Pastor Greg was preaching, "Legacy". God is so awesome! It was like He had eavesdropped our whole conversation the night before and whispered it into our pastor's ear this morning. :o)
Tonight, I got to see some really cool miracle stuff :O) Gotta love the technical terms, eh?!?! I got to church super late tonight, which I DO NOT like doing. My sister was in town and we decided to take the kids to pick apples and pumpkins. That sounded brilliant at first, but we didn't get out of the house til 2:30pm. By the time we got back to the car it was 5:50pm. Service starts at 6. I REALLY dislike being late, but I knew that worship would still be going by the time I got there and decided to go anyway because most of God's party is better than no God party.
I rolled in with 3 songs to spare! About halfway through the second one, I heard "Neck". I dismissed it entirely and went back to worship, but it kept nagging at me. (Totally didn't think it was God, I had only been in the service about 7 minutes, there is no way that I could have heard Him already, right?) So when worship ends, Pastor calls for ministry team to come up there and then he says he wants us to call out any words of knowledge. All of a sudden the microphone is shoved in my face - by my wonderful spiritual mom. I politely decline... "ummmmm, no I'm good." She says, "Well, you have a word don't you? Then say it." "I don't think so... I don't think it's from God... I don't.... I don't...uhhhhhh" Her response was, "If it wasn't from God then how would I know you had one?" Man, she got me there!
Just as I was about to open my mouth, another member of the team at the other end gave a word and I thought, "Sweet! I am SAVED!" Wrong answer... Somehow very quickly that microphone was shoved back in my face. I started to choke, I totally didn't think I could do it and then Donna told me I better just spit it out. The words almost got stuck in my throat. I could barely squeak them out. I did it though... and then the waiting to see if I really had heard from the Lord.
Sure enough, I ended up praying with three different people that were having pain in their necks and headaches. It was so awesome. When the first one came up, it was all I could do to not cry as I was telling the Lord I was sorry for being afraid and not trusting that it was Him that was talking to me. I am so grateful that He loves me and that He is so patient with all of my faults and doubts and misgivings. I am so glad that He loves me!
